“When I started this venture in 1990 even Kodak was surprised, because, at that time this was a very remote place in Coimbatore.  But I was there only for those who wanted quality and not for everybody.  In my lab you will be very surprised to know that I do not differentiate between a professional or an amateur and I have the same rates for both.  This is because I believe in the quality that I give and it for this quality that I chose to start this lab so that I could provide to others like myself the kind of quality they desired.  Today my lab is the undisputed No.1 in Coimbatore and sometimes even people from Chennai send their films for processing and printing over here”, says K Maruthachalam, proprietor of Photo Centre and himself, a celebrated photographer in Coimbatore.

He is a pioneer of sorts in bringing digital photography to India.  He was probably the first to bring in digital equipment as far back as 1996 and since then there has been no looking back.  He has the latest equipment, be it in printing or photography. 

Apart from quality developing and printing, the services offered at Photo Centre include Industrial photography, Slide Film processing, Enlargements or Duratrans, Framing, Lamination and Digital Imaging.  Digital Imaging is their strength and they have a state-of-the-art digital mini lab, film recorder and wide format poster printer.  Other digital services include photo prints from digital cameras, slides, floppies and CD’s, digitised photos of film on floppy disks and CD’s, digital presentation slides, restoration of old and damaged photos, photo visiting cards, personalised greeting cards and calendars and wide format indoor and outdoor exhibition posters.
