The eighteen-month Masters programme proposed by Saint Joseph's University to bridge the need gap of the Indian healthcare scenario, offers a host of courses such as Health Care Organization, Managed Health Care and Health Services Research. The faculty of Saint Joseph's University will teach six of the above courses. The University's Program Director, Dr. Newhouse, an expert in healthcare education, will conduct an intensive faculty development programme for the KMCRET faculty, which will equip the latter to teach the rest of the six courses. The programme is unique because it provides students with the expert guidance of locally based KMCRET faculty as well as SJU's international faculty.

The courses are designed for students with a Bachelor of Science or a Professional degree in Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, Physiotherapy, Social Work and Engineering, with a minimum of 60% marks and above. As part of the programme, students will travel in summer to Saint Joseph's University's campus in Philadelphia, to study for twelve weeks intensively; undertaking courses in Health and Hospital Administration and observational trips with practical training at leading hospitals in the U.S.A.

The programme will commence on 4 July 2005, application forms and prospectus will be available from 21 March 2005.
